Jens Settergren

About

Jens Settergren (b. 1989) explores the contemporary interconnections of nature and technology and its effect on, and connection to, images. Settergren is interested in the different understandings images create and the power they hold. Settergren is further interested in affecting and hacking images to explore society’s collective fears and fantasies. He seeks out both the grand and captivating images and icons, while also placing everyday objects and commercial images in an unfamiliar context. Through the use of video, photography, sculpture, sound and digital animation, he examines art as a tool to renegotiate different narratives and examine the different forces that shape our reality.
